My Style- My Jewellery Collection

Hello!

So, recently I have been looking through my jewellery collection, and I've found a lot of nice things so I thought I'd share my collection with you! Most of them are vintage inspired, so let's take a look...

Storage
I keep my most used earrings, rings, necklaces and bracelets in this gorgeous little box that I bought from a small boutique on my high street. I love it as it is beautiful, and surprisingly roomy!

The box has a beautiful butterfly design

Earrings
I wear earrings the most out of my jewellery, so I have quite a few pairs! I love studs with roses or pearls as well as more delicate earrings with pretty patterns.

I got these half-hoops from Cath Kidston last year

I love these little rose earrings as they instantly dress up a look

I got these beautiful Audrey earrings for Christmas- they are so unique!

These gold bird earrings from Dorothy Perkins are beautiful and came with a matching ring

These E earrings are dainty and elegant

As every gal knows, it is a necessity to have some pearly studs! Mine aren't real pearls, however!
Handmade using vintage buttons- how clever!
And last, but not least, a pair of simple hoop earrings!

Rings
I'm not really someone who wears rings, as I find they can often catch on things and become a bit of a pain, but I do have a couple that I love!

This gold bird ring matches the set of earrings from Dorothy Perkins

I bought this handmade ring at a vintage fair last year
Bracelets
I seem to always forget about bracelets! They are something that I tend not to wear very often, but by rediscovering my jewellery collection, I found a few pretty things!

I love this handmade bracelet with beautiful glass beads

This is another pretty piece from a vintage fair- and again, birds!
 Brooches & Badges
You could say I collect Cath Kidston badges as I have soooo many, but I've found some other lovely pin-on jewellery...

I bought this RSPB chaffinch a year ago in Devon

Again, another bird from another vintage fair!

I love this blue badge celebrating 60 years of the Queen's reign!

And my wide array of CK badges...

...there's a lot of them!

I got this 50s-esque pin for Christmas!
 Necklaces
I love necklaces, but I need to wear them more often!!!

My beautiful sis bought me this bird (yes, I think I have an obsession with the flying creatures) necklace

I bought this bird (surprise, surprise!) necklace at a vintage fair
I love this teapot, tea cup and spoon necklace!
So that's my jewellery collection! I don't have many pieces in it, but I love each one and it is a wearable amount.

Cath Kidston- Spring/Summer Season

Hi guys!

As some of you may know, the new Cath Kidston Collection came out a month or so ago (yay!) and so I thought I'd share my thoughts on it with you. So here's what I think!

Magazine of the best products from the collection
A brief look at the new collection of rucksacks
The backpacks are very eye-catching, and recently Cath has brought out even more! My favourites have to be the London blue print, Trailing floral design and the Daisy Rose pattern. But at £42 each, I think we can find a better bargain in the collection...

The fashion department features a red/white/strawberry trend!

Blue is the colour to be wearing!

Fashion- I love this seasons clothes! The prices have gone down (well, some have) making the dresses, scarfs and tops much more affordable! My favourite prints have to be Strawberry spot (the blue dress pictured above) and Strawberry Stone (the dress on the red page!). And, since I liked the clothes so much, I purchased a beautiful top when I was in Covent Garden in London a few weeks ago!

Daisy Rose Long Sleeve Top- £26

I got a size small, but CK sizes often come up big, so it's a little baggy (I still love it though!)

And last, but not least, the star of the show! To celebrate their 20th anniversary, Cath Kidston are bringing out a special limited edition range called Coming Up Roses, which includes their classic prints and an autobiography about their success story! The range is released on April 25th, but I can already see pieces sneaking in to this seasons collection.

The range features Cath's iconic print, Antique Rose!

So there's my review on the collection- I'm not sure if I will be buying anything else from it, but I love it all the same!

TV- What To Watch

Hi guys! Lately I have been noticing that there are now many 19th/20th themed programmes on telly, so here are my top picks on the best vintage-inspired shows...

Things to Catch Up on

Call The Midwife (Series 2)

Jenny and Co. ride their vintage bikes through the streets of Poplar in the late fifties as Midwifes
Now, I know that it is about half way through Series 2, but Call The Midwife is a great show based on the true story of the late Jennifer Worth. She wrote a short series of books on her life that were later turned into a BBC programme! It is on Mondays at 8pm on BBC One. I haven't actually seen the first series which just proves that you don't have to have seen Series 1 to understand it.

Dancing On The Edge

The cast of the show includes Doctor Who actress Jenna-Louise Coleman and stars Anthony Head and Angel Coulby from Merlin
Unfortunately, this amazing show based on the success of the upcoming Jazz era has just finished! Hopefully there will be a Season 2!!! The programme is about the Louis Lester Band, a group of black musicians in the late thirties. But after a mysterious murder happens in a famous hotel, what will happen to Louis as he is accused of killing a fellow performer?

Things to purchase on DVD

Downton Abbey

Yes, the 3rd series finished last year and it has already been running since 2010 but I have been catching up on this popular ITV hit series. Admittedly, I haven't even seen the whole of the first episode (!!!) but already it has a promising start. Ever since series 2 of Upstairs Downstairs (another fab show) finished, I never really got into any ITV shows as the BBC ones are always so good, but I think there is an exception! A great DVD purchase and one to catch up on on Netflix (hope that made sense!)

The Paradise
Joanna Vanderham plays Denise, the new shop worker

Next is The Paradise, a show set in late 1800s about a major department store. When new girl Denise arrives, she slowly develops a love for Mr Moray, the shop owner. But as his wedding day approaches, what will Denise do? This great programme was on TV not too long ago and hopefully there will be a second series...

Upstairs Downstairs

The cast of the popular BBC One show

Again, this is another show that was on TV last year looking at the class system from another angle. Set in the thirties, the servants from the house begin to know more than they should, and the lives of the rich residents change along the way. This is another programme that I only saw the second series of, but a lot of new characters were introduced in the most recent season so it's one to watch! I am hoping for a Series 3!

So, that's my latest pick of the vintage inspired TV programmes that are or have been on TV in 2012/2013!
What d'you think?!

Posts Coming Soon!

Another update- I will be blogging about vintage tea cups, doing more tutorials and there will be a new post section on fashion! I'll leave you this pic to think about...

Fashion- 1960s

So, this is my first post in the new Fashion section! Today I will be blogging about 60's style clothes that are affordable yet stylish. Admittedly, I have had some of these clothes for a while, so I dont know if they will still be on sale! Anyway, this post is more for inspiration...

Dresses

We all love a nice frock, but finding one can sometimes be tricky. I bought 3 dresses from Matalan. The first is a black sleeveless dress with white details such as a trim at the bottom and a collar with contrasting buttons. I also bought this same black dress but with coral detailing instead of white. They both cost £10 each. I also have bracelets the same colours that I often wear with them!

The other dress I have is also from Matalan and cost about £16. It is a floral dress with a Peter pan collar.

Cardigans

I have this lovely green cashmere cardi from Sainsburys! Yes, I was surprised too. It has the classic sixties swing shape and has gorgeous buttons. I can't remember how much this cost as my Mum gave it to me.
